Supporting the Simi Valley PD K9s—One Clay Target at a Time

Ever wondered how to turn a fun day at the range into real support for local law enforcement?

That’s exactly what the Clays for K9s event—a Simi Valley K9 Unit fundraiser—is all about.

On June 13, I had the chance to attend this incredible event alongside our Sales Manager, John Scott, at the Oak Tree Gun Club in Valencia—and what an experience it was.

There were also sponsorship opportunities ranging from Bronze to Platinum—offering perks like dinner tickets, company logo placement, and shooting foursomes.

Highlights from Clays for K9s 2025: A Look Behind the Scenes

From trapshooting action to raffle winners and heartfelt moments with the community, here’s a closer look at what made the Simi Valley Police Foundation’s Clays for K9s fundraiser so special.

Each photo captures the spirit of the event and the impact it has on supporting the Simi Valley Police Department’s K9 Unit.

What Is “Clays for K9s”?

It’s a trapshooting competition hosted every year by the Simi Valley Police Foundation.

But it’s much more than just a day of blasting clay targets…

It’s a hands-on way to raise money for the Simi Valley Police Department’s K9 unit—the officers who walk on four legs and protect our communities every day.

What the Event Included

Every participant got:

  • 2 rounds of trapshooting

  • 2 boxes of ammo

  • Shotgun rental

  • On-site range safety officer

  • And a BBQ lunch to bring it all home

Why It Matters

All the funds raised go toward:

  • Training

  • Equipment

  • Veterinary care

…for the SVPD’s hardworking K9 officers.

These dogs aren’t just partners—they’re lifesavers.
And they deserve the very best.

The Simi Valley Police Foundation also funds other vital programs the department can’t cover on its own, such as advanced training and tech upgrades.

Why We Showed Up

At Valley Alarm, we believe strong communities start with strong relationships.

Supporting those who protect us—human or K9—is part of who we are.

We’re proud to stand behind local law enforcement and grateful to be part of events that make a real difference.

How We Did (Spoiler: Not Great, But Still Legends)

For those keeping score at home…

I went 15 for 50 on the clays.
John did a little better—19 out of 50.

Were we trapshooting pros? Not quite.
But if this were baseball?
We’d both be Hall of Famers.
