On Monday, June 17, Valley Alarm attended the Congresswoman Luz Rivas San Fernando town hall at Bodevi Wine & Espresso Bar—an event packed with community leaders, business owners, and first responders.
The gathering brought together the people and businesses that make the 29th District what it is, including our team members, Dave Michel (Co-President) and John Scott (Sales Manager).
And it was packed.
What the Event Was All About

Congresswoman Rivas was back in town to hear from the community she now represents in the U.S. House.
The Congresswoman Luz Rivas San Fernando town hall focused on more than federal policy—it sparked conversations about local security and the needs of small businesses.
She spoke candidly about her transition from state politics to Capitol Hill.
She opened up about some of the tough issues her office has been navigating since taking office—everything from wildfire response to the emotional toll of recent ICE raids and protests.
She took a moment to recognize Valley Alarm during her remarks, highlighting the importance of local security providers in times of social uncertainty and civil unrest.
Community, Connection, and Public Safety
We had a chance to connect with other business owners like Tom Ross of Tekwerks, meet Rivas’s local support team, and even chat with Deputy Chief Jaime Moore of the LAFD.
And yes—we did sneak out with a few leftover sandwiches. Worth it.
More importantly, we walked away with a stronger sense of connection to the community we protect every day.
Whether it’s safeguarding a small business in Sylmar or deploying construction site security camera rentals in Van Nuys, our role goes beyond cameras and cables.
We’re part of the same community we serve.
