Valley Alarm Joins the 2025 Law Enforcement Torch Run in San Fernando

On June 4, 2025, Valley Alarm proudly supported the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics as it passed through the heart of San Fernando. From O’Melveny Elementary to the Rydell Dealership downtown, the streets were filled with cheers, high-fives, and community spirit.

What Is the Law Enforcement Torch Run?

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is a global movement where law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes carry the Flame of Hope to the opening ceremonies of local Special Olympics events.

The run is more than symbolic—it’s a major awareness and fundraising effort that has generated over $1 billion worldwide for Special Olympics programs.

In addition to the run, LETR includes events like Tip-A-Cop, Polar Plunges, and community fundraisers, all of which work to support inclusion, dignity, and athletic opportunity for people with intellectual disabilities.

The San Fernando Route: Led by Heroes

This year’s San Fernando leg began as officers from the LAPD Foothill Division handed off the Flame of Hope to the San Fernando Police Department. Joined by community members, Team San Fernando ran a 3-mile route through the city.

📍 Key moments included:

  • Cheering students at O’Melveny School, who lined the gates to support the runners
  • A mid-run photo in front of the San Fernando Police Station
  • The final torch handoff at Rydell Dealership, where LAPD Foothill continued the journey

Valley Alarm's Role: Fueling the Run

Valley Alarm supported Team San Fernando by setting up a water and snack station at the start of the route. Officers and runners stopped for refreshments and high-fived excited students at O’Melveny School, creating a moment that perfectly captured the day's spirit.

We’re honored to participate in events that bring our community together and proud to stand beside those who serve and support Special Olympics athletes.

Why Community Safety Means More

Our work at Valley Alarm goes beyond security systems. We’re deeply invested in keeping our community safe, connected, and supported. Whether it’s installing live video monitoring systems or cheering for local heroes, we show up for San Fernando.
