Valley Alarm team members at San Fernando Police Memorial Golf Tournament in Camarillo supporting SFPAC

Valley Alarm Supports San Fernando Police at 2025 Memorial Golf Tournament

On September 29th, our team made the drive out to Spanish Hills Club in Camarillo for the San Fernando Police Advisory Council's annual Memorial Golf Tournament. Attending from Valley Alarm: David Turner, Rodrigo Sepulveda, Nancy Lara, and DMP representative Steve Baker.

The event is organized by SFPAC, which has supported the San Fernando Police Department since 1993. Each year it brings together local businesses, department staff, and community members for a day of golf and fundraising. Proceeds go directly to SFPD programs, equipment, and training that don't always get covered through standard budget channels.

Honoring Fallen Officers

The memorial component is what makes this tournament distinct. Displays throughout the day honored San Fernando officers killed in the line of duty: Sergeant Benjamin Mushaney, shot while responding to a landlord-tenant dispute in 1930; Officer Dennis Webb, killed during a traffic stop in 1980; and Officer Jesse Paderez, who died in service on July 17, 2002. Those memorials set the tone for the whole day.

Why We Attend

Valley Alarm's headquarters are in San Fernando. The SFPD covers the same neighborhoods our customers operate in, so this isn't an abstract community relationship. Rodrigo and Nancy had time with Chief Fabian Valdez and other department leadership, which also gives us useful context for our own work. When ValleyGuard cameras flag a live intrusion, our intervention specialists are often the ones calling dispatch and handing off verified video evidence. It helps to understand how that process looks from the department's side.

Valley Alarm will be back for the 2026 tournament.
