The Data Privacy ToolKit From Valley Alarm

The Valley Alarm Readiness Program in partnership with CSR is an online self-assessment tool that helps you review, revise and revisit your business processes for handling the personally identifiable information (PII) of your customers, employees and vendors, as required by a host of legislation and regulations. You can complete the readiness program and protect your business in three simple steps:

Review

Self-Assessment Questionnaire

Determine how PII is Acquired, Accessed, Handled, Transmitted, Stored, Destroyed

Revise

Implement Readiness Policies & Remediation

Remediate weaknesses and train employees following system-generated policies and procedures.

Revisit

Continually Improve Risk Score

Routinely monitor and audit performance to meet legal, regulatory and other compliance requirements.

With the answers you provide, our assessment can provide you with a data privacy score that sheds light on your risk level. Then, the system generates the best remediation tasks and policy / procedure suggestions to meet your data privacy needs.

The ID Safe Seal

Once you have taken the suggested steps, you’ll be ready to promote your data privacy success. Valley Alarm provides the ID Stay Safe seal, a digital stamp to place on your website. With this, you can inform your customers, affiliates, potential clients, corporate insurers and others that your organization has performed a thorough self-assessment of your processes to protect personally identifiable information. With this seal, everyone will know your business vigilantly protects the PII you have access to.

How To Report A Breach

When a breach occurs, the clock starts ticking to comply with federal, state and other laws. Reporting involves the where, when and how of the incident. In the event of the actual or suspected data breach of PII, the CSR Breach Reporting Service reports to authorities and notifies consumers, as required. Your call to the in-house CSR team of privacy professionals initiates a custom evaluation of your incident to determine if authorities and consumers must be notified. CSR files the necessary breach reports on your behalf, and consumer notification can be prepared with your input.
